As we age our feet can break down causing the arches to “drop” resulting in either pronation or supination. Pronation is by far the most common condition where the ankles and knees bend inward. The condition has been shown to result not only in foot pain but also early degeneration of knee and hip joints. How many people do you know that have had to have the hip or knee replaced?

Another condition that can result in dropped arches is plantar fasciitis (a painful condition of the soles of the feet) and anyone who has had this knows this is one of most painful conditions there is.
Finally, but not the least, if the arches in your feet are not healthy this disrupts the foundation to the body’s entire skeletal system, many times resulting in knee, hip, and back pain. Too often the feet are overlooked as sources of these common complaints.
